The new New Line Middle-earth films – what is known thus far

New Line Cinema published the renowned The Lord of the Rings movie trilogy back in 2001-2003.




After it was re-attached to Warner Brothers The Hobbit trilogy was also published though it was considered somewhat weaker even if still had its moments. By the time Amazon's Rings of Power series first came out it was thought that the quality of mainstream fantasy films had gone down overall and the mood towards the industry overall hasn't been too trusting, or it isn't expected to necessarily be lore friendly or immersive enough to the book readers.

Suffice to say that once the announcement that New Line is planning to make more movies the reception from the fans was either carefully pessimistic or carefully optimistic, for that reason.
